“I think I just like film a lot, and I like taking pictures, and I also like interviewing people. I interviewed a few people over the summer. But I think it's interesting because you get to hear people’s stories, and when people tell stories they usually have a certain reaction, and I think the reaction is what kind of sells the whole thing, in a way, and I think that's really interesting. And you can tell stories yourself; you don't just have to like… you know, with film you can write fiction or whatever and just tell stories, and I think it’s really cool. I was born in New York, but I left at a really young age for Costa Rica because, you know, my parents wanted to settle down. Land was cheap, and you know, it was just a more humble life, I guess. They wanted to live a humble life, and I don't know... the U.S. was kind of crazy at the time. So this was like a little after 9/11 - so kind of to get away from everything and to settle down. They also started a newspaper down there for a couple years. And that was kind of their dream at the time. That's why we moved to Costa Rica.”
